Quality and ASTM Specs

Quality is important to Duchini.  We use batching computers, the finest curing systems, independent labs and meet or exceed all major federal and ASTM specifications.  We also certify our work completely, in writing.

Duchini participates in the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM).  ASTM sets standards for many industries such as steel, electrical and cement as well as consumer products.   ASTM is devoted to the development of standard material specifications, not only standard test methods.  Read ASTM history.

Standards:  Each unit manufactured meets federal specifications SS-C-621, ASTM C-90, C129,C145 and C55; Grades N1, N11, S1, S11 and ASTM Specifications CRD, C73 and C426-70 (Drying shrinkage of concrete block).

All of Duchini's products are Type N1 moisture control units.  The Type N1 curing process utilizes low pressure kilns which control all environmental factors.  This type of curing guarantees maximum strength with very high quality control.  Duchini masonry units are kiln cured and delivered in air dry condition with absorption not exceeding 30%.

We check our own tests!  Each year, Duchini sends a sample of the units to Robinson testing in Erie, a ASTM certified testing lab.  Compression, absorption and linear shrinkage (blocks don't expand or contract more than 03 to .045%) test are performed to meet the C90-98 spec.
